 Do you take your dog to work?

So, how many of you take your dog to work with you?  We are looking for dog friendly workplaces in the Stockport area!  Whether you are a one person operation or a corporate giant, don't be shy, please let us know and we will feature your workplace and dogs/owners on this website.!  By the way, did you know we can come and groom your dog outside your workplace (provided the boss doesn't mind!).

It's a known fact that the presence of a dog has a calming influence on people, so why don't more of us take our dogs to work?  Obviously, certain industries could not accommodate dogs for various reasons but there are many that could! Having a dog to fuss, whether it is your own or someone else's is a natural stress reliever.  A dog in the office will prove popular with most employees and the owner will usually find that the dog will never be short of walks!  Allowing employees to take dogs to work also promotes responsible pet ownership as it is not good for a dog to be left on its own for hours on end.

If you are going to implement a dog friendly policy, plan it carefully and consult with your employees.  Think about some sensible and practical ground rules which take account of simple things like standard of behaviour and the fact that dogs must be house trained! 

Why not try it for a day?  The Blue Cross run an annual 'Take Your Dog to Work Day' which usually takes place in September each year. Employees can bring their dogs to work and fundraise for a very worthy cause at the same time!          http://www.takeyourdogtoworkday.co.uk/
